100 Years: Evolution of Headache Medicine and Personal Journey

Seymour Solomon was born in Milwaukee, in 1924. After graduating from Marquette University School of Medicine he trained in internal medicine and in neurology. The remainder of his career was at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Solomon is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Neurological Association and the American Headache Society®. He was particularly active in the International Headache Society. Among Dr. Solomon’s awards is that from the American Headache Society® (Lifetime Achievement Award). Dr. Solomon has written more than 250 scientific papers. . He initiated and was abstracts editor of the journal Headache. He wrote the neurology chapters in the early editions of the Comprehensive Textbook of Psychiatry. At age 100 he is happy to be cognitively intact.
