4:00 PM - 4:20 PM
Sajedeh Eftekhari, PhD, Senior scientist, and group leader at the Danish Headache Center. She obtained her PhD at Lund University, Sweden, where her research has been focused on investigating the distribution of CGRP and its receptor within the trigeminovascular system and CNS.. She did her Post Doc at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where she is investigated the functional roles of CGRP and PACAP in the trigeminovascular system and CNS. Her lab focuses on the disorder idiopathic intracranial hypertension, where they investigate underlying disease mechanisms causing raised intracranial pressure (ICP) and define the headache mechanisms underlying raised ICP. Recently, they developed the first animal model mimicking IIH. The overall goal of their research is to identify new therapeutics for IIH.
