Jennifer Hranilovich, MD is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado and practices at Children’s Hospital Colorado. She serves as the Chair of the Clinical Informatics Special Interest Section of AHS. She is an NIH-funded researcher focused on the use of neuroimaging to explore the effects of pubertal hormones on development of sex differences in headache, through work with the adolescent transgender community.

Christina Szperka, MD, is director of the Pediatric Headache Program at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and an Assistant Professor of Neurology & Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Szperka works to improve the treatment of children with headaches across multiple clinical settings. Her research interests include use of the electronic medical record to improve care of patients with headache, and clinical trials in children and adolescents with headache.

Safe, Sane, and Supportive AI in Clinical Practice

Dr. Fred Cohen is an assistant professor of medicine and neurology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai-New York City. Dr. Cohen received his medical degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in headache medicine at the Jefferson Headache Center, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Cohen is one of the few headache specialists in the country trained in both internal medicine and headache medicine. Dr. Cohen is dedicated to improving the field of headache medicine within primary care, as well as studying the epidemiology and impact of migraine. He is an assistant editor for Headache, where he advises on the integration and use of artificial intelligence.

Andrew D. Hershey, MD, PhD, FAAN, FAHS, received a Bachelor of Science with Highest Distinction and Honors in Biochemistry degree from the University of Iowa followed by the MD/PhD program at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri. After earning his MD and PhD, Dr. Hershey was a resident in pediatrics, neurology and child neurology at St. Louis Children's Hospital and Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Dr. Hershey joined the faculty at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine, where he became the director of the Cincinnati Children’s Headache Center and is the Endowed Chair and Director of Neurology and a Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine. Dr. Hershey's research interests currently include the improved diagnosis and treatment of childhood headache disorders, characterization of outcome responses, studies in new pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment regimes, and the genomics of migraines. Through a wide variety of projects, he has been NIH funded since 2003, including collaborations with Dr. Scott Powers at CCHMC.
