Kenneth is a current PGY-1 preliminary-year intern at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and will be pursuing his neurology residency at Stanford this year. He was born in Madison, WI but grew up in Suriname and Indonesia. At the age of 18, Kenneth moved back to the United States to earn a bachelor’s degree at Oregon State University, followed by a Doctor of Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University. Growing up in diverse nations sparked his interest in multidisciplinary approaches to improving access to health care for all. Outside of the hospital, you can find Kenneth playing video/board games, weightlifting, or browsing Netflix for the next bingeable reality show.

Paul Gong, MD is the current Headache Medicine Fellow at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. He graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed his pediatric neurology residency at the University of Louisville. He has an interest in treating headache disorders within the adolescent and young adult populations and in transitions of care from pediatric to adult care. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 sons.

Beyond “Other”: Exploring Representation of Minoritized Individuals in Headache Research

Dr. Nan Cheng is currently completing a Headache fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona and obtaining a Certificate in Health Equity from Arizona State University. She completed residency at UCLA, where she served as chief resident and was awarded the UCLA Excellence in Teaching with Humanism Award. She is active in research and serves as assistant editor for Headache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain. In September, she will join the University of California Irvine as a headache specialist.
