The Kodiak Pharmacy team will present a course on how data analytics drives our pharmacy audits including controlled substance diversion investigations and monitoring, medication charge capture, and 340B program compliance. This course will provide you with the knowledge to perform complex controlled substance data analytics and test 100% population of critical data elements to assist with identifying compliance/diversion risks and find the root cause to implement sustainable mitigating controls. Charge capture assessments are beneficial in determining if drugs administered to patients are being accurately charged to patients and if not, root causing the issues leading to potential lost revenue. This course will also provide you with insight on how reconciling dispensing, administration, and charge data can assist with identifying charge capture and billing issues. The 340B Drug Pricing Program has faced increased scrutiny by the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) over the years as well as public challenges by drug manufacturers to limit and/or change the 340B Drug Pricing Program’s contract pharmacy operations, point-of-purchase 340B discounts, and “good faith” inquiries. This environment makes having insight into risk areas associated with the program even more crucial for today’s healthcare internal auditors. This course will show how data analytics testing can address compliance concerns that help auditors achieve enhanced insight and a more efficient, targeted audit approach to a covered entity’s 340B Program.
