Workshop to Integrate Behavioral Medicine into Your Headache Practice: Tools, Strategies & Resources

2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Presentation Description

“Integrating Behavioral Medicine into Your Headache Practice: Tools, Strategies & Resources”

Led by Beth Darnall, PhD, this practical workshop will review why psychology and behavioral medicine matter for pain relief. Key evidence-based behavioral treatments will be discussed, including multisession and single-session treatment options, and scientific articles provided. Tools and strategies will empower clinicians to bolster patient expectations and their engagement in behavioral treatment. A 3-page “Clinician and Patient Resource” document offers multiple options for connecting your patients to education and treatment, with recommendations prioritized. Tools and strategies include how to get started by normalizing behavioral medicine within your headache practice and how to stage it as ‘usual care’ for pain relief. Attend and become equipped to quickly connect your patients to integrated care.
