Presentation Description

This presentation will review the method and reasons for the 31 injection sites that make up the PREEMPT protocol for the use of OnabotA in the treatment of chronic migraine. The discussion will include the mechanism of action of OnaBotA and the underlying anatomy of the head and neck that correlate with the 31 sites. In addition the functional anatomy of the injected muscles will be reviewed with a focus on mitigating side effects such as neck pain and ptosis. The objective of the presentation is to allow the attendee to learn how to be an expert injector and be able to discuss mechanism of action with patients, and have a method for minimizing side-effects.

The hands on workshop will allow the attendee to practice the technique of injection and to learn in small groups with expert trainers.
